Dylan Poblano is a wonderful artist who comes from the greater Teddy Weahkee family of Zuni artists. His glorious Harvest Corn-Maiden is from bold jet. Facial features are carved and a mouth is represented by a turquoise inlay. Her body shows etched areas of Corn kernels that are hosting several sterling silver, inlaid red coral and turquoise jewelry accents, perhaps representative of corn silk or corn pollen. Her traditional tablita headdress is from hand-fabricated sterling silver stamped with the words Zuni. Two sterling silver elements represents corn husks, rolled in a beautiful way. An incredible base of red brass completes this approximately 5 3/8" tall, 4 1/4" wide and 2 1/2" deep unique work. Signed by the artist.
