Dylan Poblano is a wonderful artist who comes from the greater Teddy Weahkee family of Zuni artists. Harvest season is here for the A:Shiwi (The People) and other Pueblo cultures in New Mexico. A glorious Harvest Corn-Maiden is sculpted from bold jet with etched facial features including a mouth from a turquoise inlay. Her Corn body hosts several sterling silver, inlaid red coral and turquoise jewelry accents, perhaps representative of corn silk or corn pollen. A traditional tablita headdress is from hand-fabricated sterling silver stamped with the words Zuni. Two sterling silver elements represents corn husks, rolled in a beautiful way. An incredible base of red brass completes this approximately 5 3/8" tall, 4 1/4" wide and 2 1/2" deep unique work. Signed by the artist.
