Zuni tradition teaches that during the old-days, Corn Maidens saved the People from famine and drought by nourishing them with sacred corn kernels from their bodies. A
Corn Maiden has been carved from luscious fossilized ivory by Brian Yatsattie and presented in pendant form. Etched areas of
Corn kernels are seen under a lovely shawl. Long hair is elegantly etched as are her eyes. About 1 3/4" long including bale, 5/8" wide and 1/2" deep.
