Claudia Peina's Tablita Maiden celebrates the season's bounty through dance. Sculpted from antler, a traditional headdress called a tablita is studded with coral and turquoise inlays. Eyes are from jet paste and a voice of wisdom is presented with a coral inlay. A coral inlaid necklace compliments the beauty of her shawl that's incised and filled with jet paste, in addition more lovely red coral and turquoise accents. A lone pen shell inlay is seen on the reverse side of the approximately 2 1/8" tall, 1 1/8" wide and 3/4" deep wonderfully detailed carving.
