The labor intensive tufa cast jewelry method is how these gorgeous Dragonfly earrings came to be, handmade by Joel Pajarito. After cutting a tufa stone in half, smoothing out both surface sides and carving a sprue hole on top, he skillfully carved in reverse, creating a mirror image of the final design. Molten sterling silver is poured in the one of a kind cast. For pierced ears, these medium-weight adornments are about 1" long, 3/4" wide and 1/8" deep. Signed by the artist. View item

A sparkling stream invites Dragonflies to swarm. Darrell Shebola's ethereal necklace calls to mind the gathering of these magnificent water creatures in nature. Wings are set stone to stone with shimmering abalone, turquoise, lapis lazuli, mother-of-pearl and coral. Working in the stone to stone jewelry method is no easy task as each stone and shell has to fit perfectly side by side. Antennea are beautifully worked too. A lovely handmade sterling silver chain unites these stunning insects to a length of approximately 22 1/2". The center dragonfly is about 2 1/2" wide and 2 3/8" long, while the smaller side insects measure approximately 1 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" long. Signed by the artist. View item
