A wonderful antler Corn Maiden is by Troy Sice. He is an accomplished artist and third-generation carver, the grandson of the late George CheeChee Haloo. His creations have garnered awards in many shows across the country. Wearing a warm blanket, Corn Maiden's jet paste eyes and red coral mouth convey a soothing face, while individually etched Corn kernels are highlighted with coral, pen shell and turquoise pieces. Her covering is adorned with Dragonfly and star elements that have been etched and filled with either jet or pipestone paste. Pen shell, malachite, lapis and turquoise inlays are also beautifully set. About 1 1/2" tall, 1/2" wide and 1/4" deep.
