A Tablita Corn-Maiden is creatively carved from an orthoceras fossil stone. A tablita is a traditional headdress worn during ceremonial dances. Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez centered the orthoceras fossil to highlight the incised corn body of the Maiden. Facial features are from overlaid gold lip shell, etched and filled with jet paste. Incised Dragonflies hover on the surface of the stone. About 3 5/8" tall, 1 7/8" wide and 5/8" deep.
