Abraham Peina was born into a family of super talented artists. His father is noted carver Larry Peina and his mother is award-winning jeweler Charlotte Poblano Peina. Abraham's latest offering is a dynamic reticulated sterling silver "From Sea To Shining Sea" cuff bracelet. It features a luscious #8 Mine turquoise stone surrounded by watery abalone inlays like sunlight reflecting on the ocean. An overlay presentation with flowing curves, foliage and heartlines compliments the inlay work. Traditional overlay jewelry is achieved with two pieces of silver soldered together. The top layer has a beautifully balanced design that is cut out by hand. When the design is finished, the top layer is soldered to the second layer of silver, allowing the design to show through the open areas. The contrast is outstanding in this work of wearable art representing the entire expanse, coast to coast. The bracelet is about 1 5/8" wide.
