Sacred Shu'laawi'si Fire God katsina is a caretaker of fire for Zuni religious doings. Superbly carved from one cottonwood root specimen and painted with rich acrylics, Tiffany Tsabetsaye's "Fire God Spirit From The Kiva" is a stunning katsina doll. The intricately carved feathers, white head piece and feather in hand are additions to the collectible woodwork. The katsina doll emerges from the kiva, a sacred place where traditional activities occur. Tiny additions to the little building are called vigas which in real life are large wooden support beams. Approximately 14 1/2" tall, 4 1/8" wide and 5 5/8" deep, measurements include the lovely burnished base. Signed by the artist.
