Sacred Sha'lak'o is messenger from the Rain Gods, central to Zuni Pueblo culture. Once a year an important religious ceremony takes place in which Sha'lak'o makes an appearance. Adrian Leon's interpretation of a Zuni Sha'lak'o katsina doll is presented in miniature form carved from cottonwood and hand-painted with colorful acrylics. Other nice additions include pipe cleaner, feathers and embroidery thread. Including base, measurements are about 3 1/4" tall, 1" wide at horns and 1 1/8" in diameter at the base. Signed by the artist.
