A precious baby elephant plays with its long trunk. Elephant calves have been known to swing their trunks around, unintentionally step on them and even suck them like a human baby would its thumb. How sweet is that! Elephant calves are the apple of their mother's eye, staying super close for the first few months and nursing for around two years. Vince Chavez created this approximately 3" long, 1 1/2" wide and 2 3/8" tall elephant calf from Indigenous Zuni stone, a gorgeous variety of travertine. Precious eyes are inlaid with turquoise.
