Stewart Quandelacy and Priscilla Lasiloo Quandelacy's double strand necklace holds a healing Medicine-bear pendant carved from refreshing orange spiny oyster shell which itself measures about 1 3/4" long including the naja and 1 3/4" wide. The elegantly carved naja or crescent shape on the Bear is a design the Quandelacy family is known for. They carve it right into the stone or shell's center instead of attaching a metal bale. This style was started by the late Johnny Quam and continued by his late daughter Ellen Quandelacy and right down the family line. A dynamic alternating heartline or breath path is from inlaid turquoise, as well as the eyes. In addition to lovely green turquoise beads, there are spiny oyster shell, perhaps jet and iridescent pearl beads included. A wonderful reversible fetish pendant necklace that's about 20" long and includes a convenient 6 1/2" sterling silver extension chain.
