It is understood that septarian nodules began as mud-balls under the shallow seas during the Cretaceous period. When the seas receded these balls of mud dried, cracked and then fossilized where the cracks formed with beautiful minerals like calcite. Daphne and Leland Boone's Wolf (Fox or Coyote) is carved from a gorgeous septarian nodule. The turquoise-eyed wild canine has a voluminous etched tail. A spiny oyster shell point and turquoise bead offering bundle is a gift of gratitude from the carvers for the wolf who is a sacred teacher embodying instinct and wisdom. For the A:Shiwi (The People), wolves are associated with strong hunting powers. About 3 1/8" long, 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
