For the A:Shiwi (The People) Kolowisi is the traditional horned or feathered serpent who is guardian of water sources and can move around aquifers and into the Zuni River, Salt Lake or any body of water. He is very sacred and sometimes is brought into Zuni as a katsina. The Cochiti People also know him as he has been sighted near the Cochiti Lake area. Salvador Romero's wonderful water serpent is carved from a found stone to a dimension of roughly 7 1/4" long, 5/8" wide and 2 1/4" tall.
