Acclaimed Zuni Pueblo artist Loren Tsalabutie told us "my favorite animal to carve is the mountain lion which oddly enough was the most difficult to carve when I first started carving." We're thrilled to share his masterfully sculpted Mountain-lion (puma, leopard, cougar or panther) who shows us that it is the best hunter around. It's carved from atlantisite which is a natural combination of green serpentine and stichtite said to promote environmental harmony as a ground cleanser. Eyes are from turquoise set to a wonderful feline face. A colorful orange spiny oyster shell point accompanied by turquoise and red coral beads within the offering bundle bring out the purple stichtite areas of this approximately 5 1/2" long, 1 1/2" wide and 2 3/4" tall feline beautifully.
