By Ray Tsalate

Animal: Badger, Material: Antler
This offering is sold.

Badger makes offerings in Ray Tsalate's antler masterpiece. Traditionally, healing properties are associated with badger. Tiny incised feathers from burnished antler and iridescent gold lip shell once belonged to great Eagle who also has powerful animal medicine. They're secured with sterling silver wire onto a rare segment of natural branch pink coral also known as angel skin coral. Intricate fur incising complimented by handsome serpentine paste and jet paste inlays beautifully detail the offerer. Devoted eyes are from turquoise inlays and an adorable nose is from pen shell. Ray learned the art of animal carving from partner Troy Sice in 2004. He's won numerous awards and ribbons including a coveted 2009 fellowship with the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian in Santa Fe. Approximately 3 3/4" long, 2 3/8" wide and 2 1/2" deep.
