Raincloud Mosaic Dangle Earrings

By Mary Frances Coriz Aguilar, Kewa (Santo Domingo)

This offering is sold.
In Indigenous Pueblo art, the visual representation of rainfall is often depicted with straight, parallel lines and stylized cloud shapes. Rainclouds are powerful symbols of life-giving water that bless the land with good crops in the arid desert. Mary Frances Coriz Aguilar and her husband John Aguilar are wonderful mosaic artists whose creations are of wonderful quality. Mosaic work is a two-dimensional art form utilizing small pieces of materials such as vibrant lapis lazuli, happy turquoise and bright red coral as seen in these sterling silver raincloud dangle earrings. Including the handmade hooks, dimensions of these colorful medium-weight earrings are approximately 1 3/4" long and 1" wide.
