The month of August is a busy one for enchanted
Dragonflies. Their important doings include hunting, mating and migration. For the A:Shiwi (The People) dragonfly is a messenger who carries prayers. Peter Sohappy's rich actinolite water creature is accented with iridescent abalone, fresh water pearl, mother-of-pearl, metal and soft sueded leather, which are meant as an offering or a gift of thanks to the spirit of the beneficial insect who consumes many mosquitoes. About 5 3/4" long, 8" wide and 1" tall.
