White Bears represent healing for the A:Shiwi (The People). Around the rainforest coast of British Colombia, a subspecies of black bears called Kermode bears have rare white or creamy-fur. Sacred brothers to Indigenous Peoples, they are called Spirit Bears. They kept the bears a secret to protect them from fur traders.
