Reconnect With Nature: Birds

Birds are amazingly complex and absolutely beautiful. Watching them in nature fosters mindfulness in us. Freddie Leekya's feathered friend pairing can serve as a reminder to get outside, greet the day and enjoy animal creation. Carved from one portion of Picasso marble, the sweet bird's eyes are from turquoise inlays. They search for seeds with gold lip shell and mother-of-pearl beaks at the ready for pecking. Wing tips are accented with turquoise overlays, while plumage is sgraffito etched. Tail feathers are from either pen shell or iridescent mother-of-pearl overlays. About 3" tall, 3" wide and 1 3/8" deep.
