On a recent visit to our Keshi gallery, self-taught Zuni artist Dillon Cheama told us that "making jewelry comes easily and naturally and I really enjoy the process." His latest pendant necklace is a stunning example of his handmade works. This elegant piece is created from sterling silver with intricate petit point bezels housing Kingman turquoise cabochons accented by tiny twisted silver borders and flower patterns. The Kingman turquoise mine is in Arizona. Indigenous cultures were prehistoric and thoughtful miners of ancestral lands establishing vast trade networks for turquoise exchanging it across the Southwest and way beyond. Turquoise is regarded as a living stone with spiritual power bringing good fortune. The collectible pendant necklace features a stunning custom chain with double jump rings that allow for a wonderful sinuous movement. The necklace is about 21 1/2" long, while the center station is approximately 2 3/4" long and 1 1/8" wide. The complimenting side stations measure roughly 1 1/4" long and 1 1/8" wide. A lobster clasp closure is a lovely finishing touch. Signed by the artist.
