Animal: Horse, Material: Marble
This offering is sold.

A peaceful Horse makes us feel the passage of time as it has an old-style feeling to it. Carved by Lorandina Sheche, whose grandfather was the late Theodore Kucate, an early recognized Zuni Pueblo artist who used to collect rocks from the river to create his fetishes. His family was also famous because of their traveling traditional dance troupe. He taught his daughter Thelma Sheche who was Lorandina's mother, to carve. Iridescent abalone and sky-blue turquoise inlays grace this approximately 6" long, 1" wide and 2" tall collectible equine fetish from an earth-toned marble. Eyes are from turquoise.
