San Felipe Pueblo artist Lionel Sanchez learned the carving craft from his father-in-law Wilson Romero of Cochiti Pueblo. He continues the tradition of using found stone materials sculpted in a minimalist manner to create wondrous works of art. His latest offering is a cool porous Owl that's perched at about 3 3/8" tall, 2 3/8" wide and 1 7/8" deep. The found stone is stunning.
