Brian Yunie is from the greater Quandelacy family of noted Zuni Pueblo artists. His brother is carver Jeffrey Yunie. Their mother was noted artist Albenita Yunie (d), and their grandmother was Ellen Quandelacy (d). Ellen learned the art of fetish carving from her father Johnny Quam (d). Brian's latest offering is just in time for the spring season, three Rabbits permanently perched on a jasper base with crushed turquoise. Eyes look skyward from turquoise inlays. They're sweetly carved from either spiny oyster shell, mother-of-pearl or clam shell. About 2 1/2" long and 1 1/2" deep, while the bunnies average in size from approximately 3/8" to 3/4" tall.
