Around August, many wild birds experience a main feather shedding or molt, although they do so year round. This process of renewal helps keep them in top flying condition. Looks like Cheryl Beyuka's sodalite feathered friend has a fresh set of sculpted wings in an approximately 4 1/2" long, 2 1/4" wide and 1 1/2" tall fetish. Eyes are from coral and an offering necklace is fixed with mother-of-pearl, turquoise, coral and lapis beads, some of which are faceted. The sodalite specimen reminds us of a cloud-filled sky.
