Joel Pajarito, Kewa (Santo Domingo)
is backordered. We will ship it separately when it becomes available.
These gorgeous earrings host hand symbols in their centers, and can be symbolic of unity and a shared existence. They're all handmade by Joel Pajarito who is an accomplished jeweler from the well-known Mary C. Lovato family of award-winning Kewa (Santo Domingo) Pueblo artists. His father is respected jeweler Anthony Lovato. Joel's approximate 1 3/4" long and 3/4" wide earrings for pierced ears, were produced in the tufa cast jewelry method. Cutting a tufa stone in half, smoothing out both surface sides, carving a sprue hole on top, then carefully carving out this hand design, molten sterling silver was then poured in. Signed by the artist
Dinah Gasper's grandfather was Teddy Weahkee (d). He was an important carver known for his traditional fetishes, inlaid jewelry and human figurines. Her mother was Edna Leki (d).
We're in love with Dinah's approximate 23" long reversible necklace showcasing eleven carved human hand elements, with the center hand being about 1 1/4" long and 7/8" wide. The hand design can be a symbol of unity, creativity and our shared humankind. Strung with amazing turquoise beads and comes with Dinah's sterling silver signature label attached. A fabulous, unusual and most collectible fetish necklace.
