Raised in a traditional Kewa Pueblo household, the late Mary C. Lovato started creating mosaic jewelry in the 1950's. Although she renewed the stone and shell mosaics during this time, the Kewa People have created turquoise and heishi beads for thousands of years. Her work is collected the world over and we're honored to share a pair of stunning earrings. Sterling silver outlines jet, red coral and turquoise Dragonflies surrounded by borders of turquoise, gold lip shell and mother of pearl, which reflect the colorful sun’s glow. The mosaic is presented on a bed of mother-of-pearl. Although these post earrings are heavyweight, they're quite comfortable to wear due to unique backings. About 1 5/8" long and 1 1/2" wide. Signed by the artist.
