Tufa Cast Rain Cloud Earrings

Joel Pajarito's artistic lineage is outstanding. His father is award-winning jeweler Anthony Lovato and his grandmother is renowned mosaic jeweler Mary C. Lovato. Carrying on in the tufa cast tradition his father taught him, Joel's handmade sterling silver rain cloud earrings celebrate life-giving water. Tufa stone is a compressed volcanic ash material. It is easier to carve than sandstone and its porous surface leaves a unique texture once the metal has cooled. Tufa casting is a labor-intensive process involving many steps. For pierced ears, these oval-shaped beauties are about 1 1/8" long and 3/4" wide.
