Traditional overlay jewelry is achieved with two pieces of silver soldered together. The top layer has a design that is cut out by hand. When the design is finished, the top layer is soldered to the second layer of silver allowing the design to show through the open areas. The contrast is outstanding as evidenced in Abraham Peina's sterling silver and Turkish blue opal cuff bracelet. The rhythmic overlay designs are balanced by the stunning cabochon that itself is approximately 2" long and 1 1/4" wide. The Turkish blue opal's natural composition is said to be similar to that of quartz but with water molecules inside. The Greeks believed that it came from the tears of Zeus after his great victory over the Titans. The gorgeous cuff bracelet's entire inner circumference is approximately 7 1/8" including the opening of about 1 1/4". The width of this drool-worthy bracelet is roughly 1 1/4". Signed by the artist on the underside accompanied by a myriad of hand-stamped elements such as sun rays. Please click here for help in determining wrist measurements and best fit.
