Reversible Medicine Bear Fetish Pendant Necklace

By Stewart Quandelacy & Priscilla Lasiloo

This offering is sold.

Stewart Quandelacy and Priscilla Lasiloo Quandelacy's double strand necklace holds a healing Medicine-bear fetish pendant carved from blue turquoise which itself measures about 1 1/2" long including the naja and 1 1/2" wide. The elegantly carved naja or crescent shape on the Bear is a design the Quandelacy family is known for. They carve this naja right into the stone's center instead of attaching a metal bale. This style was started by the late Johnny Quam and continued by his late daughter Ellen Quandelacy and right down the family line. A dynamic alternating heartline or breath path is from inlaid red coral and the eyes are from jet. In addition to green turquoise beads, there are spiny oyster shell, coral, marble, malachite and tiger's eye beads included. A wonderful reversible fetish pendant necklace that's about 20" long and includes a convenient 6" sterling silver extension chain.
