Mosaic Mother Bear & Cub

By Jayne Quam, Diné

This offering is sold.

A magnesite mother Bear and her serpentine cub explore together each with eyes from turquoise inlays. Bears give birth during their seasonal torpor or hibernation. Mother and cubs winter together in a warm and cozy den, waking in the spring to explore, learn, teach and eat. Sometimes cubs will spend up to 3 years with their mothers. They're creatively inlaid with a mosaic of colorful materials such as rainbow calsilica, Mojave green turquoise, spiny oyster shell, crushed azurite, pipestone, marble, shell, jet and lapis. About 2 3/8" long, 1 3/8" wide and 1 1/8" tall, by Jayne Quam.
