Jayne Quam has devised and executed a beautiful technique of adorning her animal carvings with vibrant inlays from many different materials. Her latest offering is mosaic Butterfly carved from a fossil stone set with colorful crushed azurite, shell, lapis lazuli, jet, spiny oyster shell and azurite. Eyes are from turquoise inlays. Encountering a butterfly could be a reminder to embrace change with an open heart. About 2 3/4" long, 1" wide and 1 3/8" tall.
