Clive Hustito's father was fetish carver and jeweler Charles Hustito (d) who preferred simple designs carving mostly bears or frogs. He assisted his wife Rosalie in creating their wonderful inlaid jewelry. Rosalie continues her work to this day. Clive was born sometime in the 1960's, first carving detailed and intricate Katsinas. Clive's two sons Jonas and Matthias are fetish carvers as well.
Enjoy the sweetly turned head of Clive's Picasso marble Softshell Turtle with turquoise eyes. The lightweight and flexible shell of these reptiles affords them easy movement in open water or in muddy lake bottoms. A soft shell also allows them to move much faster on land than most turtles. Overall dimensions are approximately 2 1/2" long, 1 1/2" wide and 5/8" tall.
