A tiny turquoise
Turtle, by Ray Tsalate, reminds us that home is where the shell is, or for us humans - where the heart is. The small carving is magnificently shaped with an impressive shell and bright eyes of lapis. With a heartfelt expression the little turtle holds its head high and measures about 1 1/4" long, 3/8" wide by 1" tall. Ray
learned the art of fetish carving from his partner Troy Sice in 2004. Since then Ray has won numerous awards and show ribbons, including a 2009 fellowship with the Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian.
