Revered Water Bird

Ducks are held sacred in Zuni Pueblo because they are not bound to just one element but  can swim in water, walk on land and fly in the air. Intelligent and emotional, ducks are respected for these amazing abilities. Waldo Davis' tribute to this lovely bird is a stylized one, carved from Picasso marble with minimal wing detail. Nice eyes of inlaid jet and a Mona Lisa smile convey an endearing quality. About 2" long, 3/8" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
