Reading Ape

Freddie Leekya's delightful great ape with pen shell eyes enjoys a good book. Gorillas represent intelligence, tranquility and communication, which all seem like the perfect fit for this soulful reader who is sculpted from indigenous Zuni travertine with sgraffito etching for fur. The little booklet is made from iridescent mother-of-pearl with a turquoise spine. The eager reader and book together measure approximately 3" tall, 1 1/4" wide and 1 1/2" deep.
