Robert Michael Weahkee was inspired to carve with antler by his great grandfather, the late Teddy Weahkee. He purchases antler from Zuni community members who hike for many miles to locate shed antlers. The horns also come from their hunts. Robert's latest offering is an inquisitive burro or donkey who wears an etched serape or saddle blanket, carved from burnished antler, that's as cute as a button. Smart eyes are from turquoise inlays. Donkeys are intelligent creatures who form strong friendships when treated well. About 4 1/2" long, 1 3/8" wide and 3 1/2" tall.
