Brian Yatsattie carved this Owl from motor agate, also known as Fordite, a by product of the automobile industry. Motor agate is built up layers of car paint. Carving this material reveals many layers and complex rings of color. With a wing span of about 3 1/2" and a body about 1 1/8" long with eyes of inlaid jet this intricate colorful bird would make a rich addition to any collection.
Brian Yatsattie is know to work with the most interesting materials and this is no exception. Using spectacular red and green blanket rhyolite Brian has masterfully carved this powerful Owl. You can imagine its silent flight in the wings and detailed tail feathers, the power of the hunt in its talons. 3" tall, 2 3/4" from tail to talons, and 1 1/2" wide.
