By Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez, Zuni-Acoma

Animal: Corn Maiden, Material: Elisa Turquoise
This offering is sold.

Sisterhood is represented with five Corn-Maidens. Their relationship is built on the ancient values of Zuni culture. They emerge from the sacred village surrounded by Dragonflies and stars, all etched and filled with jet paste. A Zuni Sunface symbol representing the elements in balance is from turquoise, pipestone, jet and shell. Faces are from gold lip shell accented with jet paste. Colorful red coral cabochons compliment the Elisa turquoise which comes from the Elisa Mine in Sonora, Mexico. Corn bodies are gorgeously incised. Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez creates collectible fetishes and fetish jewelry because she's a wonderful artist coming from an important family of artisans. Roughly 2 1/2" tall, 1 5/8" wide and 1 1/8" deep.
