Reminiscent of Russian nesting dolls, Carlo Lonjose has created a wonderful set of six collectible
Corn-maiden nesting dolls that represent the
Six-Directions. The Zuni Pueblo people acknowledge Six Directions in life and assign a specific color for each one. The lovely corn maidens are nicely carved from wood and painted with vibrant acrylic paints. Etched and burnished details such as their hair styles adorned with feathers, as well as painted turquoise necklaces adorn them. They range in size from approximately 5 3/4" tall for the largest and 1 1/8" tall for the smallest. Signed by the artist.
