The Aztec god Huehuecóyotl or Old Coyote is a shapeshifting creative force in storytelling, music, dance and merriment. Ancient Teotihuacán warriors dressed up during ceremonies as coyotes to harness their beneficial power. Brian Yatsattie's foraging Coyote (Wolf or Fox) has been sculpted from Fordite, a gorgeous recycled material from hardened paint by way of automobile factories. Eyes are watchful, from jet inlays. Coyotes are devoted to family, great communicators and they mate for life. A keystone species, they are natural pest control agents. About 3 3/8" long, 5/8" wide and 1" tall.
