An ancient carved spiral located at Chaco Canyon National Park in New Mexico is known as the Sun Dagger because of the way sunlight forms an image of a dagger going through the middle of the spiral during the summer solstice. Perhaps inspired by the Sun Dagger, Daryl Shack Sr.'s textural sandstone
Bear has been incised with a radiating spiral element with intersecting dagger, among other cool designs appearing on either side of the carving. Dimensions of this cultured opal-eyed bear are approximately 5 1/4" long, 1 1/4" wide and 3 3/8" tall.
