Pueblo storytellers are clay figurines usually of an elder such as a Mother or Grandmother surrounded by children. They represent a sharing of important knowledge, songs and stories of traditional ways. Annette Romero's wonderful storyteller pottery is skillfully hand-built from natural clay and painted with rich pigments including a touch of a green one that's particularly eye-catching. Young ones have gathered around to listen as the storyteller speaks, while an infant peacefully rests in her lap. She wears traditional clothing including a cape and a lovely necklace. The kids hold cherished toys. About 4 1/2" deep, 3 1/2" wide and 6 1/4" tall. Signed by the artist.
