Courting Roadrunner

Roadrunners mate for life engaging in interesting courtship behavior. The male will tempt the female with a food offering like a reptile dangling from its beak. It will dance in front of her, bowing and fanning his tail, raising and dropping wings. He'll make cooing sounds. If she accepts, they'll stay together for their entire life. Nelson Yatsattie's fiery red Sonoran Sunrise cuprite roadrunner looks for a mate through turquoise inlaid eyes. A beautiful bird at about 3" long, 7/8" wide and 1 1/8" tall.
