Owl is carved from tufa which is a lovely type of lightweight porous volcanic stone in Lionel Sanchez's nicely-sized piece that measures about 9 1/4" tall, 4 3/8" wide and 4 1/4" deep. Tiny bits of lichen live in the stone. Drilled eyes are roving, keeping a nestled owlet brood safe and cozy. These various shaped babies are hewn from unique found stones. Owls are enchanting birds as their heads can swivel about 270 degrees in either direction affording them extraordinary visual access. Extremely sensitive hearing also benefits these analytical raptors whose flight is beautifully silent.
