Evalena Boone descends from the late mid-century master carver Teddy Weahkee of Zuni Pueblo. Her mother is Lena Boone and her grandmother was Edna Leki. Lena’s wonderful family and Keshi go way back. In fact, Rignie who is Lena’s husband, would often visit Robin Dunlap's Zuni classroom during the 80's, as his daughter Evalena and son Leland were her students. After school, he would show her animal carvings and she would purchase many. After teaching in Zuni, Robin was one of the founding members of our cooperative Keshi, Inc.
We’re thrilled to share Evalena's divine horned Owl fetish necklace, one you must own. The charming raptors are sculpted from either happy turquoise or colorful spiny oyster shell and have wise eyes from either turquoise or red coral. The center bird is about 1 1/2” long, while the accompanying feathered friends are approximately 1” long. The collectible necklace is roughly 27” long laced with rich jet and iridescent gold lip shell beads. Signed by the artist.
