Clive Hustito is from the greater Hustito and Lowsayatee family of Zuni artists. His father Charles Hustito started carving in the early 1970's, while Clive's grandfather Alonzo Hustito (d) was a noted jeweler who carved fetishes for a lot of years.
A gentle Horse with turquoise inlaid eyes has Clive's initials incised on the rump area and is carved from a soothing Picasso marble. We love this equine's relaxed stance as well as the minimal incising marks for mane and tail detail. About 3 3/4" long, 5/8" wide and 2 3/8" tall.
