Frog is a sacred symbol for the Zuni People. They hope and pray to hear the croaking of frogs because it is a sign the rains are coming. Frogs are attracted to the moisture and higher temperatures that are in advance of benefical rainfall. Sweetly carved from Picasso marble and inlaid with turquoise eyes, Dane's friendly water creature measures approximately 2 1/4" long, 1 5/8" wide and 3/4" tall. Drilled nostrils, a wide smile and body texture are nicely worked.
