In the world of geology, two minerals can be easily confused because they look so similar. Brian Yatsattie's smoothly sculpted Frog is from ruby in zoisite distinguished from ruby in fuchsite because the latter has blue kyanite alteration rims around the ruby. Ruby in zoisite is usually marked with a scattering of black hornblende crystals as seen on the cheek, shoulder and back leg region of this wonderful must-have frog. The majority of this specimen showcases rich ruby, absolutely beautiful. Eyes are from jet inlays. About 2 5/8" long, 1 3/4" wide and 7/8" tall.
