Carved from a terrifically patterned wonderstone, which is a rock in the rhyolite family, Fred Bowannie, Jr.'s perched Eagle (or Hawk) is a beauty. The layered cream and yellow patterns are created by iron oxides formed by volcanic activity in ancient times. One of the natural inclusions resembles a heartline or breath path. Eyes are always focused from pen shell inlays, while a wonderful hooked beak has etched nares. Plumage is stunning. About 3 5/8" long, 1" wide and 2" tall.
