Brian Yunie descends from an important family of Zuni artists. His mother was Albenita Quandelacy Yunie and his grandmother was renowned carver and jeweler Ellen Quandelacy. Albenita carved simple animals like her grandfather Johnny Quam and mother Ellen. Brian's small crouching Mountain-lion (cougar, puma, leopard or panther) is from Picasso marble peppered with dentritic inclusions. The old-style feline's long tail is beautifully draped. A vigilant stare is from turquoise inlays. About 1 3/4" long, 5/8" wide and 3/8" tall, measurements include the lovely base from iridescent black lip shell.
